( before overflow! )

[ Ever since Caelus gained consciousness, he's been burning with this vague, implacable need for affection. He has friends on the Express, of course — fellow Trailblazers who have become close enough to him to be his family — but it's never enough, somehow. He's never satisfied. Maybe it's because the only "mother" figure he's ever had is a sociopathic, internationally renowned criminal; maybe it's because all his memories of her have technically been wiped, cleaning his mind of answers for how she treated him, leaving him only the way that she made him feel.

But: Caelus's mommy issues aren't really the point. The problem is that he'd do anything for love, even though he knows this isn't the right place to seek it. He knows, but there's no one else, and nothing better, and if letting Aventurine close to his body helps sate the empty void in his heart for even a minute, he'll do it. He has nothing to lose.

(That sense of perpetual greed — maybe it's the Stellaron, really. Maybe it's his fault for not being more in control.)

Anyway. He shows up to the hotel room in a few minutes, as promised; he expected to have to wait, because Aventurine can be a bit of a dick sometimes, and also has a very busy schedule. To his surprise, though, the man is here before him. Caelus blinks at the doorway, stowing his room card back into his pocket. The expression on his face is hard to read. ]

You're here early.

[ He takes off his jacket, first thing. Drapes his coat over the back of a random armchair in the suite. The white top he wears underneath is sleeveless; the black tanktop he wears peeks out from underneath, and the expanse of his muscular, bare arms contrast against his gloves.

Walking over to the bed, Caelus looks down at Aventurine with an emotion he's restraining too desperately to identify. That's all there is on his face now — the furrowed brows, the restraint. He reaches out to touch Aventurine's jaw, tipping the man's devilishly handsome features up towards his own. ]

...Thought you'd make me wait.
