[ The Astral Express owns Penacony now — well, some fragment of it, anyway — so it's really not hard at all for Caelus to return to his room (his reservation's been permanently extended) and get into the Dreamscape. Things go a little less smoothly from there, though. In all honesty, he's always been too sensitive to memoria to manipulate it by himself, and he can't just give himself fox ears by the power of his own free will. And the people who are more skilled with dream manipulation, like Robin and Sunday and Black Swan — they're not really available to help him anymore. Sucks, you know? The consequences of a major political breakdown.
Caelus, in his Caelus way, eventually has to flag down a random Dreamweaver to help him. But he's good at talking to strangers and getting them to comply with his strange fancies, and so, in the end, Caelus gets to safely experience being a Foxian in the Dreamscape. He's got big fluffy fox ears. He's got a big ol' fox tail, poking out from the split coattails of his jacket. They have sensation in them, they're fully articulated so he can move them however he wants, and — much to Caelus's surprise — the Dreamweaver made them pretty sensitive even without being asked to. Maybe she gets this fantasy a lot.
He's waiting for Sampo in the lobby of the Dreamscape Reverie with his new appendages, still reaching up to touch them occasionally. Sampo will probably find him like that — ears cocked at an angle, fingers touching their fluffy tips.
Caelus looks kind of stupid, but also, to be fair, really cute. ]
Sampo! There you are.
[ He waves. The ears... kind of wave, too, with a flick that kind of turns into a wiggle. ]
Sorry, I should've helped you book a room. But you got in, right?
( Even without having friends in high places [by which he means Sparkle, and she's not really a 'friend'], Sampo would have found a way to get himself within the Dreamscape. He's got a guy who owes him a favor, or he knows someone who knows someone who needs something from him. He's got enough connections to keep a small town alive, so leveraging them to get himself a coveted room within Penacony is... well, it's surprisingly easy. The aforementioned political upheaval really does wonders for those looking to slip through the cracks.
He's been here a few times on his journey, so he's no stranger to the displacing effects of memoria. He's not adept, but he knows what to expect, how his body and his mind attempt to divorce one another early on in the arrival process. It's not pleasant, but it's brief. Once he finds himself, he doesn't doubt that he'll be able to remain there, grounded, unaffected by what this world throws at him.
Unless he's getting hit with a cute, soft Caelus adorned with fluffy ears and a big, swooshing tail.
Then he might be a little affected. )
Heeeey, buddy. Looking good! Seems like you've got a head start on things.
( Which isn't surprising. Big ears for lots of petting is what they talked about; why wouldn't Caelus be ready to go when Sampo arrived? They look both foreign and right sitting atop his head. Maybe he was a Foxian in a former life. )
You don't need to worry about me, pal. They've got a VIP suite around here with my name on it~.
( They don't, but he could pilfer someone's ID card for a bit and pretend.
Once he's at Caelus' side, he reaches for his ears, but stops short. They're inviting, dangerously so, but Sampo still needs a formal invitation. )
[ Caelus perks up when Sampo reaches for the ears. (For visual reference, please refer to the following attachment. They're very nice ears.) Far from being off-put — he consented to this, after all, and this is the whole reason why they're here! — the Trailblazer eagerly leans into Sampo's touch, pressing one fluffy ear directly into Sampo's palm.
Few Foxians in the universe would ever be this open to petting, but Foxian Caelus, it seems, has no shame at all. ]
Of course! Here, give 'em a little pet or a rub.
[ However Sampo wants to do it. Either way, they're velvety and fluffy and impossibly soft, and Caelus responds with a little laugh as a ticklish tremor runs through him at the sensation of touch — but he seems to be having a lot of fun here, too. ]
It actually feels really good to have someone touch them... I wish I had them all the time.
( Granted, even if Caelus hadn't been so forward, there's no way Sampo would last long with those tempestuous ears egging him on. They're begging to be pet. He doesn't see how Foxians have normal conversations without succumbing to the urge to scritch one another constantly.
Maybe you just get used to them after a while. )
All the time? That'll take the fun out of it. ( Right, surely they become pretty run-of-the-mill once you see them day in and day out.
Sampo can't feel much with his gloves on, but he can tell they're smooth by the way Caelus' hair [fur?] glides beneath his fingers. He can tell Caelus is a fan, too, by the way he shivers.
He leans in to speak against them, letting one tickle against his nose as he whispers: )
You gonna be a good fox for me, buddy? Hm?
( Life as a Foxian can't be all petplay and ear fondling, but this is Penacony! They can live that kind of life if they want to! )
[ This is Penacony! As far as Caelus is concerned, he'll shamelessly enjoy all the petplay and ear fondling he wants. He's actually forgotten that Sampo probably can't get the best feel of them through his gloves; on his end, though, the cool fabric against his fluffy ears feels heavenly, and he just can't get enough. ]
Uh-huh. [ He tries to say it all calm, but it comes out a little slurred and pleasure-laden. Uhhh huhhhhhh. ] Wait, d'you want me to say yes? 'Cause I can also be a bad fox.
[ Caelus's fluffy ear swivels involuntarily when Sampo speaks into it, which only makes the ensuing tickle of the man's voice ever more intense as it tingles down the Trailblazer's spine and makes his fluffy tail stand up. Wincing (rather cutely), Caelus gives Sampo a reproachful look, but the telltale dusting of pink on his cheeks suggests that he didn't really dislike it at all. In fact, he probably enjoyed it a fair bit... ]
They're really ticklish when you talk right into them like that...
[ Though maybe Sampo got to feel that fluffy fur up against his nose if not on his fingers. But anyway, Caelus perks up soon enough as he suddenly says: ]
Aw, I should've remembered to ask that lady to give me Foxian pheromones, too. I forgot to ask for some. They'd make you fall in love with me, and then I could boss you around however I wanted.
